im gunna get a bi-pod. the barrel is still stamped with marlin and its brand spanking new its got a 22 inch sporter barrel on it with a 1:9 twist. I understand you like iron sights but, if your going with a bi-pod why not mount a good scope on it and get everything out of the rifle that it's capable of? The closer you mount the scope to the bore, the more accurate the rifle will be at longer ranges. It puts the bore & scope in a closer line of sight than it is with the high mount rings. What was it with the model 770 that you were not pleased with? I know what you mean about the ammo prices, that's why I started rolling my own years ago. I can load a better round than I can buy and do it cheaper in the bigger calibers. The only rounds I don't reload for are .223 Remington and the Russian 7.62x39. I can buy those cheaper than I can reload them. They're not a better round than I can reload but, they can be bought cheaper than I can reload them unless, I bought bullets and powder in very large quantities like Remington, Winchester, or Federal does. About the Marlin rifle's stamping, I was just wondering if they were going to use the old Marlin barrel stamp or add Remington's name on it somewhere.
