I don't know alot about guns or pricing but this is the question I have. I have the chance to buy a Savage model 14 in .243 that has only had 12 rounds put through it. This is what it comes with the deal. Savage model 14 wood stock, bushnell 3x9x32 might be x40 can't remember to be honest, 96 live rounds (I never looked at brand) 50 pcs of good brass no primers, 150 nosler ballistic tip bullets, and the dies for reloading.Still has factory box it came in also. Would all this be worth $425.00? The guy had bought another person out that had all the reloading stuff is why the reloading supplies are included. The gun he bought seperate. No reloader or powder or anything, just what I listed. He now wants to sell it all as a package for that price. I think that this would be a good deal but as I said I don't know used gun values all that well. Thanks for the help.

That's not a bad deal. if the savage is like new as you say, with a scope, plus you get 96 rounds, you are doing OK. Plus brass and Nosler brand slugs (Noslers are pricey but they are very good, I like them alot) i a nice extra as well. if you like the rifle, I would say get it.

I thought it was but you never know with guns. Change one detail on a gun like the trigger feel or stock color and it goes from a $1k deal to $250. Too many variations of finish , color, and materials of the same gun by the same maker to keep up with what is decent and what isn't, especially when looking used. Thanks for the reply. I am supposed to meet the guy at 6 p.m. to buy it

Good Luck!!! I know what you mean. It is amazing what some people will do to a gun. I had the chance to bu ya mint condition Auto 5 sixteen gauge for $250. beautiful gun except for one thing. They cut the barrel and put in a cutts compensator. Couldn't remove the Cutts because it would have been 15" and illegal, so it was either find a barrel, if you can or live with that ugly bulging monstrosity on the barrel. It was a bargain, I just couldn't afford! :)

The only Problem with that is you'll findthe barrels go for more than the whle guns. I've sen barrels go for $500-$600. When you cna find them. You can find a good sweet sixten in the $300-$500 range easily enough if you look. I bought a 1927 sixteen ga for $450 that was in 95% condition and was made for the european market. It has a monte carlo stock and sling swivels. Kinda cool becasue it is something different.
