You know your good when you put the gun back together and have 2 pins, 2 springs, and 1 washer left over and the gun still works. Try to disassemble a parker bros. sidelock shotgun. If you can do that without a manual or illustrations you could quite possibly be the best.

I have seen the extractor galling the barrel face cause this. Does it appear that the extractor is abrading the barrel face?

Very well could be this but I have never looked into to deep. Also very poor finish on the cam bearing surface I have noticed. Let's face it, it is a 100 dollar gun it ain't gonna be as smooth as a Stolle action.

Just that remember it is only a 100 dollar rifle. You are not gonna get the total quality you would out of a more expensive gun. Yet I will say I have had mine for a couple of years now and have had no problems out of it. I keep mine well maintained though (must be the being raised by a military family and being in the military too) Any rifle will last along time if you properly maintain it. I see so many hunters with their rifles rusted, not oiled properly and just down right poorly maintained. Then they can't figure out why it doesn't work properly. I would recommend one to anybody. Just remember maintain it like you should any rifle and it will last.

ive had that happen before, and yeah, it worked! (air gun at that time though...) i made the mistake of taking dads Optima M/L apart one day, in case youve never taken one apart (though im sure you have) remember which hole that the pins come out of, cause if they aint in the right ones, it aint goin to work! (it took me a week to figure this one out without dad knowing anything..... i did manage to get to work though!)

im afraid to try to take apart a Parker. hell, i aint ever even seen one!

i have a marlin youth mode its short likr the crickets real nice gun has scope mounts same action as the other marlins Also i have ruger with the pre ban folding stock love it wouldnt take any thing for it

That is what I do, sidelocks and boxlocks. Parkers, Fox, Even Holland's. It is not that bad if you do alot of them.

An E clip is a small flat washer that is shaped like a c with a little nipple in the center of the c. They are used often on carburator linkage- chokes etc. Any auto parts store would have a selection of them.

Papers mean a little but i haven't seen papers put a coon up a tree!

well i also have had extremely good luck with this little gun. They are a pain to load if you have big fangers, but all and all they are worth ever dime you put in em. There tough as a pine not to. I garuntee ya you could throw one over a 100 foot rock cliff and still shoot it just the same when you went and got it. I have had mine for around 11 years and its still goin. The only thing i hate is the lock in front of the trigger guard. They are aggarvatin to have to unlock ever time it hits a limb. I would deffinately recommend gettin one though.

Drill out the lock. I drilled my out and didn't have any trouble.
