Of course. You can fire anything UP TO 3 1/2" shells in it. You just can't fire longer shells in shorter chambers.

You can fire them, but they most likely wont cycle the action. I bought a 935 when they first came out. They are made for waterfowl and turkey, and designed to handle higherpower 3 and 3.5 in rounds. I have not found a 2 3/4 shell that will cycle the action yet...it is not designed for 2 3/4 in.

That's not right then. Something is wrong if it won't cycle 2 3/4" shells. The 935 is supposed to have a self regulating gas system that should let you cycle anything from target loads to 3 1/2 turkey loads. I have read that some folks have had a problem cycling 3 1/2 inch shells but not 2 3/4. It might have a bind or the gas port could have junk in it. A bunch of things it could be, but you should be able to cycle anything in it.

It did not cycle them even right out of thebox..they are not powerful enough to work the action. It was not intended to fire 2 3/4 in shells. Thats what the 500 and 535 ATS are for, the 835 only works with them because its a pump gun.

Not trying to down you or anything, so please dont take it that way, but I do actually own one of these, and it is not made for those shells.

Not at all. I don't see many Mossbergs and I was just relaying when I have seen on several message boards. Some folks are actually having a reverse problem that you have.

Really, I know it is not advertised as such, though there is no reason why it shouldn't be able to fire 2 3/4" shells. Maybe not target loads, but a heavy pheasant load should cycle.

Sometimes a good cleaning is all it needs. alot of these companies gunk in so much cosmoline that it needs a good stripping right out of the box.
