I have never owned a stoeger.
I have owned the ever popular 870 and have just purchased the 870 super magnum 3 1/2 inch shells ohhh yea
The 870 is like an old pick up, there cheep and show up to work every day. I have never hade a problem with mine, except for the stock i broke off on the head of a hog. But that is another story.
In my opinion, if ya want an afordable reliable alll pourpose shot gun than go with the 870.

Nothing wrong with an 870. One of the best pumps ever made. I have to tell you, those Stoegers are underrated. I just sold an old upland special and it is pretty solid. This one was in older one, don't know about the condors though. Check the action and the locking system. Does it feel solid? Check the hinge pin or hinge pins. It is reinforced? How about the forend? Does it attach solidly? if you can say yes to all of these things, buy the stoeger with confidence. If it feels or looks cheap, then it will probably loosen up in a just a few rounds and that is bad. in that case, I'd say stick with the 870.
good luck!

Depends on what you want to do.
If your going to bird hunt I'd like the double barrel.
I have a Stoeger side by side double barrel and it's been a great gun.

Do you have an uplander, Plott? I just sold one and dang it was nice. Nice lockup, stout hinge, very underrated. very solid and made to last hrough alot of rounds. I've seen some sell for alot more that weren't nearly so well made.
I just saw an up close photo of a condor. It looks like it has a hinge and locking system similar to a Beretta. If it is, it should serve you well. Even if it gets loose, Beretta's are pretty easy to tighten and this one outta be, too.

Yes indeed it is a Uplander. I paid $350.00 for mine about 5 or 6 months ago. It's really been a good'un up far.

I would buy whichever one felt the best at my shoulder, because that is where you will have it most of the time, not in a gun case to be admired.
I always try to buy the firearm that points the best, regardless of the price.

I've had an 870 wingmaster since I was 12. Still kills rabbits to this day. I've never had a problem with it since I got it, and I didn't get it new. I think my dad got it when he was a kid; so, If you ask me... get the 870. Although I have heard that the newer express has had a few problems. I hope whichever one you decide on does the job for you. Let us know how it works out.

The sighting is every thing. And for me a stoeger has to high of a comb. But that is my personel build to that gun. The 870's usually have a good generic comb height. If you look down the sight plane and can see the top of the barrel or rib you got problems. You want to look down it and only see bead.

I have the 870 super magnum- great gun and if you clean it once and again it works like new. Works pretty good if you neglect it as well. How heavy is the Stoeger and what are going to use it for. For me, sometimes after a long day chasing (er, I mean hunting over) my coyote hounds I wish I was toting my old single shot H&R. Good luck and good shooting. Paul Conway.

Yea, they aren't bad. The one I sold was a 28 gauge. I was surprised how well the fit was.

i have 3 870's, swear by em, 2 years ago i let a friend borrow one to use deer hunting, the idiot left it leaning up against my tailgate and i didnt know it, the dogs jumped and i backup over it, got out to see what i hit and picked it up, sand was all in it and the stock was bent, about that time here comes the deer. the only gun around was that one, and il be darned if it didnt work fine and killed the deer, straightened the stock out and thats how it is still today. i have a stoger 3000 semi auto that is alright but i dont use it too much just got a good deal on it. gotta love those, 870s tough guns

I have a Stoeger over and under and love it. That being said the craftmans ship isn't the finest. I do see a little rib sometimes and the rib is not perfectly straight. I do like it but it is the only shot gun I have every owned. Any of you gunsmiths have a rule about how long your stock should be? Mine is a little long and I am curious how short I should cut it to.
