Are there any differences between the Hornady Projector and the Lock and Load progressive press. A friend of mine plans on buying one with 6 shell plates and a RCBS uniflow measure for $300.00. Right now on ebay, there are a couple going for $75.00 or so, the Projector that is.
The only difference I see is the way the dies attach to the press. If so, if a man doesn't mind taking the time to screw the dies in and out, the Projector is a pretty decent progressive press for the going price on a used one. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm hardly a reloading expert, but I reload with a standard type press and it works fine for me. I can do 40 rounds in no time. the progressive presses are good if you want to do lots and lots of rounds at one sitting. Short of that, the one things I would suggest is that you get the best scale you can afford. All of the presses work about the same and they all pretty much do a good job, but if you have a cheap scale or inaccurate one, your loads will be all over the place. being able to weight powder and slugs consistantly is very important. I'd say go for the used presses and learn and practice all you can.

Yep, I started this dirty habit a bunch of years ago and I figure it works so well for me, why change?
