I carried an m-4 for a while and hated every minute of it, I was later issued an accurized m14 (yes some units still use this as a des mark weapon) I loved it something about a 30 cal just warms my heart. As for the AK they are one of the most utalized weapons due to the fact that there are more out there than any others, they function in less than prime conditions due to the low tolerances and loose actions this makes for not so great accuracy. That and the fact that most of the ones we recovered were so old and ill taken care of the barrels were pitted to hades and back along with other issues, they still worked but as to how close they shot to what they were aimed at well I am glad we were not on the other end of our rifles. I wont snuff my nose at anything from the 03 to the m14 there are a few others I would thow in the mix also.

I shot the M-16 when i was in the army and it is a good rifle ! I do believe though that Ga rand 30-06 is THE gun after shooting my friends, but it sure is heavy. The NRA did a poll a few ago and guess the gun of the century ? 30-06 Springfield for almost any game animal plus to world wars and Korea

I wouldn't say unless I fought with all these types if rifles.I wouldn't want to fight with a .223 though.ID much rather fight with a .308 or .30-06.They do much more damage.

I used a M-4 for 15 months and never jammed once. It was covered in dust (I was a tank commander) and never let me down. The biggest problem we had was the cheap-o mags... they were the cause of double feeds and so many of the problems. Carried a 9mm also and it was a fair lil gun.

It would make gun nuts sick to see all the weapons that are recovered over there and we just blow them up or crush'em with a tank. Dozens of M1's still packed in grease... so many antique guns that could draw serious money over here.
