I carry a cricket 22 rifle. Its a youth gun and very light. I like it. Went with some guys the other night that had never been coon hunting. Went on their land so I didn't carry my gun. We got to the tree and one guy wanted to know if he could shoot the coon. I told him that was fine with me, but I left my rifle in the truck. He whipped out a snub nose 22 auto an informed me that he could shoot it with his new pistol. 100 rounds later, he finally knocked that coon out. Posted or not, I don't like waking people up at 2 in the morning. New rule for me, don't shoot at a coon with a snub nose 22!!!

i bought the browning buckmark rifle with the heavy barrel and then had the stock rremoved and mounted a holo sight from bushnell on it this made me a pistol with an 14 inch heavy barrel with deadly acc. and it is not to loud since i bought it i have killed hundreds of coon and and can only remember a few that took more than a handful of shots

i ve been carrying a tauraus trakker for 2 season s , i added a pro point red dot, the tauraus shoots bout as good as most rifles i have or have had, real nice tite groups, handles all 22 ammo to, makes a nice coon huntin rig with the uncle mikes shoulder holster, made for scoped handguns.

i usually use my old marlin .22 rifle. and it depend on wheather i shoot to kill or not. if you got a young dog you wanna definitely knock it out, but for example if its real bushy, ill aim right for the eye if its the only thing i can see.
