Here in South Dakota, having adequate .22 ammo on the store shelf is a thing of the past. I was wondering how it is in other states? Is demand still cleaning the shelves?

It is here in tn .. We have people that sit at Walmart on the delivery day for ammo and buy all the 22 ammo up and resale it at flea markets and online for a marked up price.. Ridiculous... I talked to the management at our local Walmart and they said they have cut it back on how much you can buy per person.. But they just bring more people with them to buy it.. Lol its a shame you have to order ammo from internet just to hunt

Same as longhaul 1xx here where I'm at exactly the same. Place you can still get it just high. The days of "cheap" .22 ammo is gone for sure

I never find it anymore. I am lucky to have about a couple boxes of 500 rounds left.

I am considering buying a Gamo pellet rifle since ammo is easy to find and cheap.... I ran into a guy in the timber with one- He said it works great except in high wind- then it isn't as accurate

jeeppro, that's an excellent idea. I never thought of the pellet rifles. I looked at one a couple years back and thought about getting one but they were more spendy to shoot than a .22. Nowadays i bet they are cheaper to shoot. Who knows, after awhile that might be all we can get lol.

Here in Ohio we have gun and knife shows all over and quite a few gun shops in Dayton area. .22 is pretty easy to find. Walmart is another story tho. Roughly $4-$5 for a 50 round box, $29.99 for a 500 round brick.
