No I don't like the dogs to fight the coon. We have coon hound Peralycis(sp) running rampid here it's not worth it.

Federal, is the best shell for just about anything. But can be costly too.

Federal hollow points- $9.00 for a box of 550 at Wal Mart. But, since I've been shooting a .17 mach 2,the double deuce has been staying home alot more.

i've got about 5,000 rounds of ammo, don't ask why, and all clips have a diff. ammo and they do the same... so the key word is cheap... cause it's good for the dog's to git some fighting... o and there LR, again because there cheaper....

i heard that they stopped making cb shorts. I don't know though. If the rifle is a single shot you definitely can. If not ... it depends.

I've never had trouble out of cb's in anything but an semi-automatic rifle-I was told it was because they didn't have enough "ooomph" to kick the slide back.I'm pretty sure they still make them, or at least all the gun shops around here still have plenty.

I don't know if they are still available around here. I used some of them once, but I was loading them one at a time in a semi-automatic. As has been said, they didn't have the power to push back the action. They were not very accurate when shooting any distance either. The shell casing is too short to operate properly in a gun chambered for LR only. They will hang up.
