I got a gamo shadow 1000 that shoots 1,000 fps that would deffinatly knock a coon out of a tree.

i definitely wouldnt try to go with a .177 pellet rifle for a dedicated coonhunting gun. sure theyre fast but they carry no energy with the lightweight pellets that the 177 are designed for. if i were you i would get a .22 or .25 that can shoot a 14.3 gr pellet at least 900 fps. i personally use a .20 caliber benjamin silver streak that i had beefed up with a steroid tune and ive shot many a coon out with it...

yes sir i sure am...some ones that i would consider if i were you would be a benjamin marauder in .22 or .25. theyre kinda pricey but theyre worth it if youre serious about airgun hunting and theyre the budget models of the p.c.p airgun world at about 700 for the gun and pump. if youre on a budget then you can get 1 similiar to mine for about 300 to 350 from tim at mac1airguns.com. be sure to get the steroid tune though and you will have plenty of power.

Those new Benjamin's are fantastic, the .25's would definitely kill a coon. I plan on buying one in .22.

i have a ruger airhawk that shoots 1000fps i think, i used to shoot coons from about 20 ft away from my kitchen window with it. had to get a perfect head shot or it wouldnt take them down right away, but squirrels and rabbits it dominates up to about 40 yards which is about from my back porch to my fence

Up here u need a permit for anything over 500 fps. I own a european compressed air, air rifle that uses a 9 mm pellet and shoots up around 14-1600fps with a well placed shot will kill a coon easily

im not sure if i would take a pellet rifle out around here there always treeing in huge cotton woods and sycamores but if i did take a pellet gun it would be the Benjamin Sheridan in 20 cal i shot my cousins growing up and killed tons of coons and opossums on the ground dead with one shot between the eyes

When I was trapping I use to find c b and pellet rounds in coons some just went under the skin and some went in the muscle.I always used a long rifle because I used a Marlin 60 auto and a 10-22 ruger.
All you doing is make the coon suffer,Me any thing and every thing I make a instant kill,I have read where this coon hunter shot a coon 13 times with a air rifle before he killed it. now that is BS don't be cheap and buy a brick of 22 longs.
