Hi all, my name is Al Kranbuhl and a life time houndsman. I have owned and hunted most of the coonhound breeds and have settled on and used English hounds for the past twenty five yrs. I also am fond of rabbit and hare hunting with Beagles.

In addition to hunting with hounds I have owned used and hunted with Airedale Terriers since 1967. This great breed was once the most popular dog in America and a very popular hunting dog. In my life I have personally used them for Coon, Squirrels, all sorts of bird hunting and general varmint hunting and a farm dog. They are also being used with success on big game such as Lion Bear and Hogs.

The goal of the Traditional Working Airedale forum is to get some real hunters involved with these dogs and get them back on track as hunting dogs. After many years of neglect and AKC showing baloney good hunting line Airedales have almost become extinct.

Anyone that thinks they might want to get on board with this great breed is welcome and wanted. We are coming up on 200 members and I am hoping to get this thing turned around before I am too old LOL.

The board because of it's hunting content is a members only deal so one has to register and set up an account to get in. I check the board often so I can validate accounts as soon as possible.

I know these dogs are not hounds but I can promise you that if you get a good one you will be sold on the breed. So folks if you are interested in trying out an Airedale or adding one to you pack you are more than welcome to check us out.

Buckshot, we have a links section on our board and both Coon Dawgs and ShadeTree forum are listed.

When I was younger, me and my dad bear hunted some with a group here in VA and one of the guys had a couple of Airedales. Those things weren't scared of much and would give a bear a clear fit and were pretty big to boot.
