I haven't been on this forum for very long , but so far I'm glad to see that the spirit of the outdoors lives on. I'm a avid coon hunter and I also like to surf fish at Cape Hatteras N.C. which is the state that I live in. Cape Hatteras has suffered a severe blow from the Defenders of Wildlife and The Audubon Society, the two originations have got most of the beach access closed to vehicles through most of the summer months, which has killed the economy of the island. OPBA, and the North Carolina Beach Buggy are trying to come up with a plain to make everyone happy, but the DOW & the AS want no part of it. If you would please take a little time and sign this petition I would appreciate it a lot. http://www.gopetition.com/online/18790.html
We are hoping to get 20,000 signatures so if you can pass this on to anyone else that would be great. Thanks a lot! BILL

I wanted to add this.
In 2007 the NPS removed (KILLED) 18 Red Foxes, 6 Grey Foxes, 135 RACCOONS, and 85 Opossums. The Defenders of Wildlife and the Audubon Society had the National Park service remove (KILL) these animals because they were raiding bird and turtle nest. They have not submitted the 2008 standing as of yet, so I cant give you that info. I don't know why they couldn't just relocate the animals in stead of killing them. If your not familiar with Cape Hatteras its a island that isn't very wide but long, about 70miles. It doesn't have a lot of fresh water ponds and most are concentrated in a few large areas. Imagine killing 135 coons on 25 acres in less then 6 months!
