Dan Tichenor sent me the following:
All,
I called Sue Blake of the Governor's Office of Research and Planning this morning to ask her about SB1578. I had met Sue at the Sportsman's Caucus Dinner on August 8th. The process is faster than I thought. She said that ORP is still opposed to the bill, and that she would attach a letter from California Houndsmen for Conservation to their analysis opposing the bill.
I picked up the BI-folds late this morning, addressed, stamped and mailed them at about 2:30 this afternoon. I told Sue that we were soliciting letters from our membership. They will probably start receiving them about Wednesday. Some letters due to Irv's e-mail and from a few clubs will arrive sooner. The Governor has at least until the end of the month to act. Hopefully, he will wait to receive more mail before deciding.
Since ORP remains opposed, and since the vote was highly partisan, there is a chance the Governor will veto it. We must get those letters mailed in and wait and see.

It's also OK TO CALL THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE TOO. They now have a designated number for you to push to voice your opposition for SB1578. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THIS YESTERDAY WHEN I CALLED!
I think they've found out this is a HOT ITEM!!
Yesterday the lady told me that they'd been getting some calls, but MOST were in SUPPORT. WE DON'T NEED THIS!!
CALL TODAY, TOMORROW, AND EVERY DAY UNTIL THIS THING IS BEHIND US.
Just like Sherry Peery told me, "They record each and every days calls."
