I bond with my dogs when I get them as puppies. I'm not affraid to drop him if he doesn't make a hound. Yes many say I'm cruel but o well.
I think you can overdue it with bonding. I look at like this. You have 2 parents one is they mean one that won't let you do stuff so of course you take advantage of it and ask nice one. You still love the strict parent but you obey them better. So you have to keep a fine line in handling a hound or they will take advantage of. Things they don't like to do.
