Since I posted that I got a young Walker that was miserable on the lead. Her front feet didn't even touch the ground when you had her on the lead. I used that method and it took us 30 minutes to get 200 yards but she figured out what I was after. The next day I did the same but she was MUCH better and the third day I walked her normal and she did very well. Still needs more training but a major improvement.
