Ok ya'll i got a 2 year walker. Ok she was doing fine last year but now this year i couldnt hunt her all summer.
well i took her and her pup out for about 2 months now. And shes just not treeing hard I mean she runs the track heavy and all but wont tree hard at the tree and then when i get near the tree she will earthier Come too me or just bark some at the bottom of the tree....
If i get up to her and make some noises and hit the tree she will go crazy.
Her 6month pup is gettin better then here on a tree....
Ive tied her to trees when i got there and spent a hour at a tree with here around the bottom. but i just cant get anything to stick witjh her

If she runs ,trees stays until you get there and has the meat,Whats the problem? I'll take a 40-60 bark a min tree dog that stays and has the meat any day over the 100 plus a min dogs.

Does she have a coon???? Laying a dog up for a summer should not really hurt the dog at all..Most guys do not hunt in the summertime.. Many times a dog will get lazy and do just enough as long as they still get the coon. Also petting a dog up does not help alot..She might not be a natural hard treedog like you want. She might be a just 30-60 bark per min treedog...The best thing to do if you want a harder treedog. Is to chain the dog back off the tree and not let them touch another one until they tree better..Also you can get them barking better when you go to feed them.If I have a dog that lacks a good barking rythum on the tree.I feed that dog last..Until they are really barking good.It does not work with all dogs But can really help most of them..............

i would hunt the dog by itself a night or so, one of my buddies dogs trees a lot harder by himself than when he's with other dogs, and i've seen a couple other dogs do the same thing. Another one of my buddies hasn't hunted his dog all summer either, and he's not impressing him like he did last year, i have had good luck with some dogs that NEVER bark on tree, by tying them back and letting the other dogs have the coon, about 6 trees in a row, that drives them crazy.
