hey i just got new black and tan 6 month old and the guy i got hm off of told me he would tree a drag coon well i shot one out with my older b&t and the next day i turned both my dogs loose and the older one treed it but my little one wouldnt even turn his head toward the coon what do i do?

he might just still be to young but if he dont pick up on it by the time hes a year i would sell him

You just learned a lesson..Dont believe everything a guy tells you..LOL.. When selling a dog. Most guys will say (they) tree a drag or run and tree with the old dogs...That does not make it true...This dog is really young most pups dont do anything until 8-12 months old.Thats the age the average pup starts.....How does he act??? Does he act like hes been worked at all..???....Its best to work young dogs alone.Then see what he does.How long have you owned the dog???..If its only been a few days it can take a few weeks to get used to you and the new place.....I would not expect a lot out of the pup this year..Next spring he will be just right to start hunting..

yeah i see what youre sayin ive had him for about a monthe now and ive had him in the woods about 3 times and while my other dog is runnin he sets at my feet but we cought a coon today so im gonna try letting himm get a bight at one that will fight back tommorow
