Rosie: is it sad that I never would have considered that? We dragged a dead coon and my little girl seemed to do fine so I dont think Im gonna put my hands anywhere NEAR anything that could remotely have rabies lol

Color me stupid, but I've always questioned drags in any shape, form, or fashion. Just not natural. Dead coon, or skin can't smell like a live coon. Like has been said, dog trailing you or coon you dragging? Can buy a live trap for a few bucks and get a hot track on a live coon way too easy to be messing with remains. Releasing a wild coon for a hot track/tree hellva' lot more sane than trying to put a lease on one.

lol, only way i know of makeing a coon dog is by hunting them.ive used bout everything i could think of from putting a collar on the coon to bottled coon scent on a scat and it didnt help them much, but i have hunted the pads off a dogs feet a few times and it seemed to work more better. main thing is getting a pup bred to tree where the coon goes up and not where they come down.if i have a dog treeing a lot of dens,to me hes treeing slick and to many circle trees are the same thing.
