He's more than likely barking in the holes because he can see the coon or hear it growl.Keep hunting him, if he's treeing coon, he'll come around.When he trees, (I assume with other dogs, or you wouldn't know he's treeing)get all the other dogs off the tree and pet him up real good and make sounds and get him real fired up to the point he just can't stand the excitement any more and he'll start barking.This is all assuming, of course, he has the meat.This method worked on my buddy's redbone-she'd "strike" ahead of the other dogs,but all she did was whimper- she's obviously got alot colder nose than my dog, 'cause inevitably, not long after she started whimpering,my dog would strike a little farther down the creek.Then I started tying my dog back off the tree and petting her up to where she couldn't stand it any more.And buddy, when she cut loose, you've never heard a better voice on a dog.
