Post subject:  old vs pup issue

Hello all i have a question im sure any of you older hunters can answer i have my two pups im getting trained up for the next hunting season there a little over nine months old the have been going to the wood since 4-1/2 months off and on more on than off .
i have recently gotten there birth mother to help in there training and she has treed me many coons in the past 2 months and the problem im having is a jealous issue my female pup has issues on the tree if i pet up the mother and so she wants to fight the mother and if i pet the mother at all even just a sign of good job she in return jumps to push the pups away from the tree i could tie them back but damn is that the answer i dont want the pups afraid to go to the tree thinking she will snap they will all tree fine together before i reach the tree but as soon as i get there the fight is on and ive whipped them and scolded then but i cant seem to get it across i wil not shock them at the tree and as soon as i leave the tree there three peas in a pod again so any advice would be helpful at this point . thanks in advance.

Hunting them with the older hound isnt helping if they are fighting at the tree. Many young hounds have been ruined by other hounds tearing them up at the tree. If I were in your situation, I would run the pups alone. They have already been exposed to coon, so they know what they are supposed to run/ tree.

If you do run them together, definitely tie them all back as soon as you get to the tree. They cant fight if the are apart
