I have a B&t on trial and because of the crazy winter she has been in the kennel the last two weeks and i finally got her out two nights with the temperature just below freezing and on hard snow (melts during the day, freezes at night, and 12" to 24" deep, but she stays on top). Coons have been out and on every occasion but one she opens on track no more than 100 yards from the truck. She will run it another 100 yards or so then come up treed. Twice they have been dens (coons tracks all around on the ground), once she changed the tree she was on when i showed up (no coon), and once it was a smoking hot track and treed on a big pine then switched to another pine when i got there (and i couldnt find the coon in either pine because it was too thick). On another 2 occasions she hunts the bush out, doesnt say a peep and comes back to the truck.
We have lost some snow and the temperature is going to be up the next couple of nights and ill see what she does but i cant figure out why shes slick treeing, the conditions havnt been great.

-shes 6 and was a nitetech champ in kentucky and has several litters of pups registered to her
-doesnt run trash

I think i have figured out part of the problem, she is treeing where the coon come down. I have been pulling her off the empty trees and she gets right back to running the track. Also more story comes out n=and she hasnt been hunted in the last 2 years.
