I bought this 3yr old walker male from a guy because he was cheap and out of some really good stock. He's never really been hunted a whole lot until i got him. I've taken him out with my older dogs and he didn't seem to do too bad. Tracked and Treed with them really well, had the coon.

He's pretty tree happy, quite a few slicks. He doesn't seem to have a whole lot of drive kind of comes back and checks in then will go back out and pick the track up again. Taken him out by himself once and he really didn't want to do much so i walked him in and he stumbled accross a coon and tracked it really nice. Came treed with a really nice locate and treed super hard.

The next night took him out with my older dogs again and he didn't do a thing. Sat at my feet pretty much the whole time.

Any opinions on what i should do??

From what you posted, you hunted a 3 year old dog that has not been hunted alot and you hunted the dog a couple times.............not to sound rude, but KEEP HUNTING THE DOG -- not sure what you expecting from a 3 year old dog that hasn't been hunted alot and you hunting the dog a couple times. You have to keep the dog in the woods hunting. Perfect time now since season is open/or about to open. Hunt the hair off the dog to give a dog a chance. A couple times hutning the dog is not a fair chance for dog that is this age and wasn;t hunted much.

Don't be surprised if the dog does not work out -- there is a reason he was not hunted alot and was CHEAP to buy.

I have a 2 yr old bluetick that was doing the same thing. I took him out, cut him loose, and then you wait. Went out about 50yds and then came back and i ignored him. He did this a couple more times and then treed up at about 250 yards. It will require a ton of patience.
