i have a young dog running a track good and treeing some. when i take her with my old dog right here around my house she will run track and tree some. when i go over about 30 minutes away with the man that got me into hunting she will go out hunting normal but not open on track or tree. is it the new dogs? she has been over there quite a few times. or could it be just the new area. what can i do to help this. she is 18 months old

Some dogs will do that.Chain her back at the tree and dont let her touch a coon thats been shot out. That seams to really fire up most dogs after they are started..Do that until shes treeing real good a few times. When you get to the tree with your friends dogs...18 months is also about the time some dogs will back slide... Some Females will also act funny before and after they come into heat..

i would say (or guess) its the new dogs. i have seen many young dogs look good with dogs they know and trust and then look like they had never been before with a dog they don't.
