The other day i took my wifes pet down to the pond about 2pm to cool off, he is a year and half old black and tan. He played in the water for a bit and while running the bank he struck and left out. I thought he was running a deer and really kinda tickled he was hunting at all. Well a few minutes later he fell treed down in the creek, i called b.s! But sure enough he was treed on an ole holler tree. I eased up a tree next to it and the first spilt in it was a coon. So that brings to to what id like to know, when every thing is right, how long is a track workable?

he might have winded the coon up there, or as coon can come from a den tree in the daaytime to get a drink of water. to answer your question, I dont know how old a track would be for a dog with a good nose to track it. thats good question though!
