Well I have a dog that I just knew was gunna be great. Well here lately when I take him out he just dont care for huntin. He has done this a few other times. Sometimes he will just stand there and bark at the last place he smelled the coon, its like he doesnt want to do the work. He has never run any trash. He is about to be 2 and I know he shouldnt be actin like this. Like the other night we took him with another dog and while the other dog, which was a male, was on the tree, he was treeing on a stump!! What to do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

dehunt did your dog ever hunt good at one time? if he did and he just stoped something aint right there. he might have some health troubles going on or could have been hunted with a ill dog at sometime or another. i hunted with a ill dog one night and everytime i got to the tree the ill dog would be on the tree with the coon and my dog would be about 20 feet away treeing on a sapling, i never heard them growl or nothing but the guy that owned the ill dog told me he was mean.

Your dog is about the age they can back slide a little..It can also have a lot to do with the hot weather and summer hunting...Some dogs dont like hunting in the tough weeds. Like stinging nettels will even sting a dog..A lot of dogs wont hunt after getting into them even old dogs..But it dont bother some they go right through the weeds...Hunt the dog alone and see what he does. You might try when its cooler..Some times you can lay a dog up for a few months will also help ..In 3-4 weeks the weather should get a lot better ..
