your puppy is a puppy thats what they do. Mine chased her tail for a year and we treed turkeys and everything else that walked in the woods. Since a year old i had to break her off deer once and now shes focusing on coons. I think a gamey pup is a little easier to train cuz they have the will to hunt. This is my first pup though so take me with a grain of salt.

It takes the patients of a saint to raise and train a pup.It semes like you take one step forward a ten back training a pup.

I love gamey pups. Just remember that pup is still 8 months old. That's still very young. You can expect some foolishness. Enjoy it.

my 9 yr old will bay turtles if he thinks that's what your after. if you don't pay attention to them he will ignore them. he's also bayed ducklings in a cage (I think he was over coon caged before I got him), and he's bayed snakes. never ran deer or possums so far though, so I can deal with some craziness.

I thought my four month Walker was weird for doing that. You should see him take off after a frog or toad in the yard. He'll try to pick them up in his mouth, but I was told some are poisonous so I try to keep him from getting too close to them.

now he has moved on to baby rabbits. he had one the other day. It was funny watching him try to eat it while running away from the other two dogs
