ok, need opinions on what this walkers doing. my dad titled this dog out at 27 mo. old to grntch yrs ago, he's boone and sackett. dad always said if he had a nose he would be unstoppable. he was a good bucket dog, flat burn up a hot track. well, he quit hunting 3 yr ago, and i started huntin this this yr about avg 2 nghts/week. he is now 10 yr old, i know i cant expect him to be like he was, but when i take him huntin, i cut him loose, within 10 min. he just sits down and locates and trees, tree is empty, doesnt open. when does open, well, me and dad gets excited, lol. but nothing either, we have treed a couple earlier this season, but since its been cold, this is what its like, maybe i just need to wait til training season and hunt on feeders. i am hunting in areas with water tnot hunted at all(coon) on private. ive seen tracks,!and sometimes he checks back in if doesnt get onto nothing, pulling up short? trying to please me? idk,i can even call him off the tree when he trees, thanks

he doesnt need hunted around feeders.. he just needs tuned up. i would start by waiting for a thaw and see what he does.. if he shows progress knock a couple out to him.. not every one.. that should tune him up

happy to announce this old dog has came around late in the season, hes getting pretty darn accurate to say it best. he treed like 5 or 6 coon last month without slicking shew i guess you just gotta keep them in the woods. thanks floyd for your input, dad thought he was ruined by stooding him up for that long, now i gotta get the old man tuned up to teach me some more....haha

blaze treed two coons in one tree last night, it was right of the feeder that had been empty for 4 to 5 days across a creek in a big oak in some laurels. He worked the track good and everything, the blew the top out of that tree, I knew he had one, but thats the first time since ive hunted him by myself he had two!!!

NO MORE SITTING DOWN AND TREEING shew yeah hes quit that. just started taking my 7 mo old traxx pup with blaze. Just got to watch hunting him in this hot weather, he is 10-11 yr old.
