I carry a nalgene bottle filled with water in my backpack. I usually take off most of my out jacket, fleeces, etc down to my polyproplyne when I'm moving any distance and put them back on when I stop. With yotes we may be moving for hours then stationary for hours, then moving again for short/long periods then stopped for short/long periods. Just more comfortable doing it this way. Folks laugh at my everypresent pack. Paul Conway.

I use a camelback. its like a backpack with a bladder in it and has a long tube that you suck the water out. Plus if you hold it down and squeeze the end you can pour it out and the dogs can drink some.

a camo pouch for your belt at wal mart is 6 or 7 dollars. It comes with a bottle but I usually just put a full bottle of water in the pouch and leave the bottle that came with it at home

I got a bottle holder that slides on my light belt from Valley Creek fairly cheap. One of the best investments I've made for summer huning and competition hunting where around here seems like you never go back to the truck you just keep casting the dogs deeper.

I have a back pack and put two frozen 20 oz MT. Dew bottles in the outside pockets. By the time I get thirsty they are thawed pretty good. I have 2 five gallon buckets with lids, on each side of my box in the truck. I fill them with water before I leave and drop a frozen 2 liter in each. It"s fairly cool even after 5-6 hours hunting. I take the lid off one when I get out incase a dog comes back he can get a drink. I leave the lid on the other until I get back. That way when I forget the lid is off the other and splash it out flying down the road in a hurry I still have another one. I HATE a camel pack. The water gets hot to quick and sucking out of that thing just doen't do it for me.

Oh, and you will know you forgot to empty the buckets when you stop at a red light in town.... your truck goes to rocking. It took me a while to figure that one out.

I use a 1 quart army surplus canteen. Clip the cover onto my belt and go. I use an army surplus belt and suspenders for coon hunting. I have a first aid pouch I use for ammo, squaller, cell phone, etc. I have a fanny pounch on the belt I use for lead straps, jacket, etc.
In the summer I slide a machete sheath on.
If I've got my coon light, I've got my canteen. It stays on that belt.
