Has anyone ever used the cap for the headlight instead of the hard hat. I have been using a hard hat and I am thinking of getting a cap instead. Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks Morgan

I have both.................I am always wearing hat so I bought one of the Low Profile hats and think I prefer the bump cap a little more.

Guess I am use to the way the light sits on the bump cap and it seems a little heavier on the front end on the Low Profile hat with the light attached.

It probably depends on your head. If you have a pin head like mine, the weight of the light makes the soft cap slide down and am always lifting it back up. I prefer the bump cap, as the head band stays in one spot for me better.

I have both and I prefer the bump cap because I wear glasses and the soft cap keeps creeping forward and pushes down on my glasses. I do use the soft cap in real cold weather so I can put the hood up on my jacket.

I wonder if there is adifference in the new low profile soft caps compared to the regular soft caps.

The low profiles sit lower and the brackets are totally different.

bob2799 are you using the new style low profile or the regular soft cap?

i have never liked a light on the hat because it seems the cord is always pulling on the hat and of course every time the cord hangs in a tree limb it pulls your hat off your head :D ... i never really liked a bump cap because of the weight and it seems to me the bump cap will freeze you to death in real cold weather so when i do use the light on a hat i use the old style soft cap in cold weather only ... i wear it safety pinned on top of a toboggan so it does not ride down on my face like the other folks talked about ... i never wear a light on my hat in warmer weather ... i leave the head clipped to the front of the battery and i pick up the head and use the head in my hand like shining a flashlight while walking or shining a tree ... the new style soft hat looks like it would work better because it is not as deep as the old style ... there is not as much hat there to ride down on your face ...

i have the low-profile hat and love it....it is a little bit tougher to get the head on and off of it........... but you can pivot the head at diff angles if you choose to which is ok if thats your thing but to me it feels just like the caps i wear everyday

seen a buddy of mine with the low profile brackets mounted on one of those stretch to fit caps......he told me it was the best thing sence sliced bread

I've had the low profile cap for a year or two and will never wear anything else! My son just bought one for his new light he got for CHRISTmas. He hated the bump hat anyway.

I have used both the old and new style soft caps. I like the new ones much better. They do not seem to fall down over your eyes as bad. Never tried the hard hats but its usually too cold around here to consider it.

Do those nite lite brackets on the hat adapt to any headlight out there, or do you have to have a nitelite light?

I believe that they are pretty universal. My 20 year old 5200 Wheat by Koehler head fits fine. I would assume that all wheat style heads would also fit, as well as nite light exclusive heads. Of course that is just a guess.

I bought one of those low profile hats and hate it it always gives me a headache cause the light feels so heavy of the front of my head. the low profile rides around in the top of the dog box now. And I went back to the bump hat.
