Roscoe1-I tried that HMP 4 volt bulb in my 6 volt halagen head& I blowed the first bulb at once. 2nd HMP 4 volt bulb lasted a few minutes then it blowed too. Was sure brighter the short time it lasted but that small fillament just can't handle the juice from a 6 volt battery. A BM-30 4 volt bulb will work really good & last a long time on a 6 volt battery because BM-30 has a much bigger filament. This would be the way to go if you are going with a 6 volt battery. Just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Farmboy-1 |

You can use a 5.2 volt bulb and have pretty good luck. they are quite a bit brighter and aren't prone to blowing if you watch your reostat. The BM30 bulb works in a hot light not on a halogen head.Give me a call at 800-584-5490 I've got those bulbs if you don't find them locally. |
