I like the sportmix. I usually just change to a higher protein and fat mix during the winter (26-18) and (21-8) during the summer.

I am really happy with the Purina Pro Plan chicken and rice 21/16 the dogs look real good on it and only poop once a day. I just wish you could get it in 50# bags.

I tried the raw chicken diet. Its not cheaper and a big pain. Instead I started feedin my mountain cur and mountain feist raw squirrel quarters. They seem to love it. Im thinkin of tryin raw coon when kill season comes in, lots of meat on a coon that usually goes to waste. I still leave out dry dog food in the feeder that the dogs have 24/7 access to if they want it, why cook up rice for filler if dry dog food is just filler. I can't say I noticed any difference in the dog or the amount of crap or energy levels but it is blazing hot summer right now.

Was using diamond ...switched to Southern States. Have been feeding it for awhile now. The dog like it, they look healthy. I'm pleased with it.

I tried it. Its not cheaper, its a lot of work, and all my dogs ended up gettin worms. I'd say there is nothing wrong with supplementing with meat but cook it first.
