According to a bunch of vet reviews that say OL ROY is not good for dogs , has some bad stuff in it that can cause sickness . Just do an internet search on it

I fed it a few years ago,the dogs ate it well good but the clean up was triple that of some of the oter "premium" brands.

I use Nutro for large breed and only because I can't get diamond sporting dog. they are similar though the Nutro is more expensive. I don't know that much about Ol' Roy, but I can tell you I avoid Hill's science and Prescription Diets. they are overpriced and have way too much grain and by-products.

GIVE ME A FRICKIN BREAK... A COMPANY AS LARGE AS WALMART IS IF THEY HAD A PRODUCT THAT "CAUSED" CANCER IT WOULD NOT BE ON THE SHELF... OR THEY WOULD BE UP TO THEIR NECKS IN LAWSUITS I HAVE USED OLE' ROY BEFORE WHEN I WAS OUT OF FEED OR SHORT ON CASH NOTHING WRONG WITH IT JUST WOULDNT FEED MY DOGS OLE ROY ALL THE TIME... VETS ARE SALESMEN OR SALESWOMEN TOO... THEY ARE GOING TO SALE YOUR THEIR SCIENCE DIET OR WHAT EVER IS ON THEIR SHELVES... BACK TO THE OLD SAYING YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ITS CHEAP SO YOUR NOT GETTING MUCH FOR YOUR MONEY ...I USE PEDIGREE DRY PUPPY FOOD/ MIXED WITH DIAMOND HIGH PRO THE PLOTTS LOVE IT AND ARE NOT HAVING A PROBLEM WITH IT ...

only thing i see wrong with old roy is that you feed more and your dogs SH** like a goose! With a little bit more money in a feed your feeding less.. and it saves in the long run.. I was feeding old roy for a year and just thought to myself "my golly my dogs crap alot" and also they number one ingredient is corn or some sort of grain.. thats why you end up feeding more. they don't get as much out of it.

I have a Dobe that has been on Ol Roy Premium for 9 years and a German Shepard on it for 16 years. My walkers eat it also. I have had no problems at all with the feed. You do have to get the premium with the number one ingediant is meat. The red bag I believe is corn based and will cause the runs.

I'm in Canada, so not sure if this is available there, but I run my Lab and hound on Eagle Pack. Their coats are nice and shiny and they're both in excellent shape. Labs have a tendancy to put on weight but mine is lean, and they have great energy levels. They maybe drop stools about twice a day depending. I use the 26% protein mix 13% fat I think it is. I've heard of Black Gold being quite good, but I haven't seen that in the stores up here. Hope that helps.

It can cause cancer in some dogs , kinda like smoking for people , some it does and some it don't . But it has been a proven fact that it can cause it . Just do some research on it , you will be surprised

i feed ol' roy to my redbone. she has a really nice coat and has plenty of energy. i'll have to research that whole cancer thing. if its a big problem i'll switch her to something else. if you wanna go all out feed eukanuba. its like $40 a bag.

My wife is an obedience instructor, and works with several pet stores that sell high end dog food. In return for her endorsing the expensive dog foods, one of the pet store owners gives her a REALLY good price on it. If he didn't give her such a great price, we would probably go back to ProPlan Select.

I have heard some bad things about Old Roy. There is just too much filler in it for my liking.
