has anyone out here had problems with garmin's dc40 collars?
i have used mine 6 or 7 times and the last 3 times ive used it the collar loses signal a few minutes after i let the dog go. i think that it's shorting out because if i wait for it to get satelites and then shake it it loses signal and searches for satelites again, which it's not going to find if the dog is hauling @$$ after a coon. i have a message into garmin for a warrenty but havnt gotten a responce back yet

I had that problem and the antenna was loose.. But it was the long range antenna not the factory one.

i'll have to check that when i get home, i havnt messed with the antenna on the collar and you would think that the factory would put it on pretty tight. it kindof looked like it was actually shutting off for a second when i would shake it though

I recently purchased a new dc-40 and used it twice. Both times were about 2 hours. About 1 hour into hunting it would say GPS communication lost. I would have my hand on the dog that had the collar on him both times and never communicate with the collar. Has anybody else had this problem?
