Outdoor Hub Campfiredon't try and tighten it with the socket.
it just being loose will not be the problem ,, the problem is usually the wire that connects to that socket fitting is broke inside the handheld. if you go cranking the nut down you WILL break it if it aint already.
when you lose connection with the collar go to the dog info page and see if its says lost gps or lost communication.
if its lost communication then its in the vhf antennas either on the collar or on the handheld. on a working handheld and collar you can remove both antennas, off the handheld and off the collar and it will work to about 100 yrds out. if that's all you get for range with the antennas on and its doing the same with any collar,its a sign that its in the handheld connection for that fitting you are looking at. the wire from the circuit board to the antenna fixture is broke. if you can turn that whole fitting (the threaded part the nut you see is on) around its broke.
