Diamond stone only way to go

Diamond stones have there purpose, which is a touch up while utilizing the blade. Not to fully sharpen the blade...... I should know because I'm that guy that sharpens knives at the knife and gun show for 2 bucks a blade. A whetrock with a coarse( 600 grit) , a medium (1000 grit) side and a honing stone. Case offers an outstanding honing stone.. case knife are not all made equal. CV blades sharpen faster and hold a better edge, but tend to rust if not taken care of properly. SS blades take longer to sharpen but hold a edge fairly well. Not as well as CV, but you can get away with a little more neglect as far as cleaning....

Buy a Lansky knife sharpening kit. They are a little pricy but are really good kits.
