I first went coon hunting when I was 9 or 10 years old (I'm only 13 years old) with 2 Black and Tans and my cousins and Dad. I loved it from then, I went a few more times with my cousins Walkers and got me a lil' 2 month old Walker pup about a month and a half ago. I hope he turns out to be a good one and I want to experiment with other breeds too.

I got started with a good buddy of mine. The first time I went it was raining so we didn't think the dog (Black and Tan) would be able to pick up a trail. Well we let'em off the truck and about 30 min. later he had something. After trecking through a good swamp (thank god for weighters) we found the tree and there it was. A 35 lb. bandit. We squalled and tried to get it down but right before we were going to send up my friend it supermaned outa the tree. I ducked and it landed about a foot behind me. I've been hooked ever since.

So how did your addiction start was coon hunting a family tradition or did a buddy drag you off the couch to hunt with him one night? My all started when I purchased my bluetick already trained to take care of alot of nuisance coons never hunted coons with dogs before and the first time I brought her I was hooked!

I reckon I came by it naturally! When I was 2 or 3 years old my dad always took me, i would stand in the back pockets of his overalls and hold on to his overall straps, until iwas old enough to walk and keep up .He would just carry me like a backpack.I remember his dogs or as I called them my dogs where really good, so we treed alot of coons,Thats what hooked me.

A buddy got me hooked. I would go out with him all the time and loved it. He told me that if I liked it that much I would like it even more if I had my own dogs...he was sooo right. I got a walker pup give 2 me, then a little while later he said he new where another started dog that was worth the money. Drove four hours and bought it just going on his word the BEST INVESTMENT I've made real good dog at a good price.

Hearing my uncles and cousins talk about old coon hunting stories really sounded like fun, so I went to parsons tn. one year and decided then and there I had to get into it.
