If the pup is doing it in the kennel I would put a bak collar on it, My pup was horrible in the kennel until I did this and it hasnt affected her on the trail at all, some dogs may be differnt though. I just went to a local pet store and got one for 25 bucks it has held up on my girlfriends dog since mine used it a week and now is quiet in the kennel.

We have put a bark collar on her but I think the damage has already been done . I was just checking to see if there was anything that could be done to bring her mouth back stronger .

thats normal, i used to have a dog that would do that, it got a lil bit better but she still squeaked, especially on a tree, but when she barked at a dog it got a lil deeper

My dog sounds like a great dane when theres people coming up the driveway. But in the woods he's squeaky. Some of the dogs we used to have in his line did the same thing though, so I think it's hereditary.

it seems like my red female just changes over night about 10 months to a year old. Im no expert trainer but i think if u wait it out it'll change. If not its your dog. Only u have to be happy!

Some dogs' voices will deepen as they mature; some won't.
My Saint Bernard has a very deep, loud bark when he's at home. When I board him at the kennel where I work at his voice becomes much higher pitched--it actually embarasses me some because it sounds yippy. The more excited he gets--the higher pitched his voice becomes. Granted he's not a coonhound, but I imagine the excitement of being on a tree would have some correlation.

This may be a really dumb question, so forgive me if so.

My 6 month old RB has a great sounding voice, at times. He really sounds awesome about 75 % of the time. Big booming bawl, and a pretty good chop. But every once in a while he lets out a bawl that is scratchy and almost sounds like it cracks in the middle. Kind of like a teenager going through puberty. I was wondering if this is common for growing puppies as it is for humans with their voice. Or do I just have to face the fact that he will let out a goofy sounding bawl every now and then.

Thanks

Cory
