Just cause a a dog reaches the 1 year mark doesn't mean that is the magic mark. Dogs come into their first heat at different ages. Some 9 months, some 16 months, some even 2 years.

Read this thread as this topic already has a thread going on it.

I have to do this, LOL jcoonhound this was your comment in that thread concerning this subject.

Some bitches have different cycles. I once had a bitch that came in every 18 mths. You just never know 'til it happens.

lol come on now buckshot you are supposed to keep that kinda stuff to yourself when you find it. I guess it is easier to tell someone to be patient than to be patient lol.

the other day me and my buddy where in the store and was talking to him about how its weird his female hasent come in heat yet. this guy next to use heard are conversation and ask if she was fat. we told she is a little round but not bad. he said if a female is too fat they wont come in heat.i think he must be thinking of some dog that was nuetered or something.

I don't know what to tell you bud. I had a beagle that didn't come in heat till she was about a year and a half old.

fat dogs won't come into heat..just like a heifer..if a heifer is over weight she won't come into heat or will have false heats and never breed.

I have a dog that i let a man take to breed to his male. She came in heat and he didnt breed her and wanted to do it later. That later never came. He can be rough on a dog. I have had her back for 2 years now and she has never come back in. She is 4 years old. If he had stomped her guts out and messed her up to where she will never come back in. I think that is what her problem is. What do you think? It has happened to woman that have been beat. Any thoughts? Lets hear them.
