to deal with fleas and other problems i use a three pronged tactic. 1st i mix the bedding in the dog house with 5% seven dust every 3 months. 2nd i getrock salt 50# and spreaded it out across the chain spot. i do this eveery 3 months as wewll the salt kills the flea eggs in the ground. last but not least i pyretin10% mix 3oz with about 20 oz of mineral oil.i sppray this on the hound once a week this will keep fleas ticks and fleas away. its basically like using adams spray but its twice as strong and last 10x as long.

yes i do this all year round alot of it is preventive mainnetaice. but this tatic will solve anybodys flea fly and tick problem

can you spread salt around on cement or would that be pointless?

You can spread salt anywhere you want. The rain will soak it in.
