For you guys that have concrete bottoms in your kennels do your dogs get sores from it? I noticed mine do and i know its worse in the summer because they are not out of the pens as much because here in South Alabama the risks of hunting regularly in the summer is seriously outweighed by the reward. Im just curious if theres any tricks to keep the sores minimal. I put a medicated paste on the sore spots but the dogs just lick it off. I thought about putting a piece of outdoor carpet as
An oasis off the cement but im afraid theyll chew and eat it, also i they pee on it the smell would no doubt be unpleasant.

I've got concrete and my dogs have a big wooden floor to sleep and get off of it. Maybe a wooden pallet might help,it would make air space under them when they lay down and it would be easy to lift and clean under. Have any of your dogs ever shown signs of hip problems from the concrete?

Pine or cedar chips? Tie them out through the day?
