I just got a new 1yr old Plott Hound last night and he has small sore spot just to the right of his anus. I was wondering if some medicated ointment like Neosporin would help him. There's no blood or anything but it does look wet by a clear liquid. Kinda like a popped blister. What do you think you guys would be best to do.

Here is the pic, he is also licking it. Also there is no smell when I'm around him so I assume its not a ruptured anal land.

Talked to the vet and it looks like its an anal gland issue.

Can it be treated easily? What kind of problem did the vet say? It looks infected or impacted.

he goes to the vet Saturday, they told me until then I can put neosporin on it to help it. But when he went #2 yesterday, a shot of liquid came out before everything else so I'm hoping if it is a gland then it was relieved. His stool was bone dry so there is only one place where I think that liquid could have came from.

Looks like anal gland is stoped up and a infection has set in maybe.
