My 2 month old redtick has tiny little bumps on her head that almost appear to be under the skin or something. This evening i found a larger place. They do not stick out very far and you can feel them more than you can see them. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

I have the same problem with a young redbone and ended up taking him to the vet and he explain it to me as pimples kind of sort of and that they would go away. It lasted for a few months getting better and then worst but at about 6 months it all cleared up and i haven't had any problems.

Puppy bite bumps are usually only found 1 or 2 at a time, not a whole bunch, and they are larger. That looks like some kind of rash or possibly could be bites from mites or something similar. I'd have the vet do a scraping to make sure.

It looks like chigger bites to me. You might rub some 5% Sevin dust on his ears and coat.

I have a 10 months old pup with teh same exact problem right now..... does anyone else have any suggestions? I noticed it the day after i cleaned out the dog box and put fresh straw in, but I also took him for a day time run in a field. I was guessing some kind of rash or allergic reaction but it still hasnt gone away in a week in a half. He was kenneled with my older dog for a few days and the other dog has no problems. I also have 3 beagles and a lab that come in contact daily, and they dnt show anything. Any more ideas?

It could also be an allergic reaction to something in the hay. Is it safe to give a dog benedrill?

Yeah, you can give a dog benedryl. For my dog's allergies he gets one pill 2x day. I try to minimize how often he gets the pill because it makes him drowsy, but an allergy attack makes it worth it for him.

I still havn't got it figured out. the bumps look the same. hard little bumps, no puss.they do not seem to bother him at all. haven't found any signs of fleas, and I clean his ears regularly.the vet gave me a bottle of cream that did absolutly nothing. The gnats have been terrible around here. can't stand outside without getting hit by 30,000 teeny missles in the ears eyes nose and mouth. chain smoke just to keep the bugs away. I dont think its the gnats though because none of my other dogs seem to be bothered by them.

Are the bumps still as big as they were when you first noticed it?... The bumps on my dogs ears seem to be getting smaller now, but they are still there, and like you said, don't seem to bother him at all.
