I took my 2 year old plot out hunting today and he caught the coon in the water and inhaled a bunch of water. The coon was under some brush hanging over a little creek about neck deep to my dog. A he would jump at the coon and bark then suck in water. He seemed fine til I got home and then he started drooling really bad and panting heavy. He is usually pretty hyper but he would just lay there in the grass not wanting to move. I took him to the vet and she said he has water in his lungs and it seems pretty serious according to the xrays. has this ever happened to anyone out there besides me? and was your outcome good? I hope he pulls though, cause he's turning into a fine hound. Thanks happy hunting

Did the vet get him started on an antibiotic in case of pneumonia developing?
