I went to feed my redtick this morning and he had his tieout cable wrapped around his leg to where it cut off the circulation. I unwrapped it an its still real swollen. He uses it a lil. But is just layin around more than normal and I can't afford to take him to the vet for a few days. What should I do?

Yes it broke the skin a lil. I put some triple antibiotic ointment on it. My main concern was the swelling and I'm not sure how long the circulation was cut off I didn't know if that may have caused damage

I would think internal bruising, but if he's using it/putting pressure on it, that's a good sign. Aspirin can be given for pain/any fever as long as there's no worry of bleeding. If you can do warm/cold compress/soak..maybe epsom salt? Hth
