my dogs gums are white but everytrhing else is fine, not losing weight and eats good, i've de-wormed him just in case, no fleas or ticks, still full of energy and when he gets outta the dog box he hits the ground running like nothing is wrong, any ideas, i would take him to the vet, but there ain't nothing wrong with him other than his gums being pale

One of ours had the same thing. We took her to the vet for something else and they noticed her gums were pale so they did blood work. They called me later at work to say she was in kidney failure and to bring her right back in. A different, very experienced, vet saw her the 2nd time and was shocked she looked so good. He was expecting a starved, sickly animal from looking at her bloodwork and thought I brought the wrong dog. In my opinion it's because hounds are so much tougher than "regular" dogs. Anyway, she had no other symptoms but would have died if they hadn't caught it. If your dog isn't injured and hasn't gotten into anything poisonous I'd get him to the vet for some blood work if his gums don't pink up in a day or 2.

That's good to hear. Hopefully it is nothing.
