Does anyone have an opinion on wether or not constantly smoking around a dog/ puppy can ruin there nose? I get on my wife about air freshener and she has brought to my attention that the smoke prolly isn't any good either.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't think it would bother them unless you are actually blowing the smoke directly in it's face all the time.

i dont smoke and i dont think it will hurt a dogs nose, if it does that raises a few more ?s what about camp fire smoke, exhaust from trucks and so on. but sure it could be bad if they was expoised to it constant or like TN tree dog blowing in its face all the time now if ur dog has an allergys might be a differnt story.

I think it would have an effect. I know my own senses of smell and taste were much less sharp when I was a smoker. I didn't even know it till I stopped smoking and started to notice things that I'd never smelled before - like an ashtray. I couldn't smell an ashtray while I smoked even if I put my face right over it but after quitting if I walked past a room with an ashtray in it I could smell it plain as anything. Other smells and tastes became much clearer. A hound is much more sensitive and it is possible second-hand smoke would have a dulling effect on its nose.

From a health perspective, I wouldn't smoke around the dogs.

Fire up you aint gonna hurt him.My uncle had an airedale that would actually puff on a lucky strike, and he loved for my uncle to fill his bowl up with PBR.That 'ol airedale was a smoker and a drinker (no joke). Now my uncle is gone and the dog, they were a sight to see.

LOL! Just because he liked it doesn't mean it was good for him though.

That may have been what killed the ol airedale but he enjoyed it .If he heard you open a coke can he thought it was a beer.and he would come be your best friend til he realized he wasn't gettin drunk!
