Post subject:  Feed Patterns

I have a 3 1/2 yr old gyp who's always made be curious about her feeding habits. She's always been relatively picky, not getting into too many treats or anything and rarely eats the full amount of food I give her. A day's amount will often last her 2-3 days, even when hunting.

For example, I hunted her Sunday night, fed her Monday morning, hunted her again Tuesday night, and she's only taken maybe a 1/2-cup from her bowl.

The vet says she's healthy, and she looks good. She's lean but muscular and about 60 pounds.

I've just never seen a dog of any kind eat so slowly and it still concerns me some, as it seems to be getting a bit worse, and I was wondering if any of you have experience with this.

For background, I used to feed her one brand of high protein, but when she really stopped eating that, I switched to Eukenuba Premium Performance about two months ago. She seemed to eat that better for the first 4 or 5 weeks, but now is falling back into the same pattern. Like I say, the vet says she seems fine, but it makes me nervous and am just looking for some advise/experience on this one.

I'm wondering if I shouldn't be switching her food occaisonally.

Thanks in advance.
