I swear this is no joke. I just picked up a new walker puppy today. I drove 8 hrs to get her...when I got ome she went in the yard to ##*%*. I noticed she was struggling. I walked over and noticed the fecies were coming out of 2 seperate anal holes. One is smaller than the other but all in the same it's there. The area around the holes are chaffed and red but apparently not enough for me to have noticied when I went over the pup. I mean i really went over her. Man im dumb founded....I got this pup to show and comp hunt....Anyone got anything to say? please help.

You sure the pup doesn't have dried fecal matter from runny poops causing it to look like 2 buttholes?

I swear i've gotten closer than I ever wanted to this pups butthole. Magnafying glass and all. There are 2 openings. it looks like the pup should have a normal sized anus but skin has grown over it leaving 2 seperate openings. The only thing that made sense to me was that they are both connected to a single intestine and the skin is just superficial. I'm not sure though. I have been driving all day and exhausted.

ive never heard of anything like that, iam just asking, could it be a punture wound or anything like that?

I took the pup to a friend who has been breeding dauschaunds and Bichon Frise for like 25 yrs. She told me that the pup was born with a closed anus. Then as the pup grew it backed up enough pressure in it's bowls that it blew out a new annus below the closed one. When the pup poops she has no musle contol to cut the terds off and the poop just kinda oozes outta her. I got this dog for a brood bitch and obviously i can't use her. At a minimum shes going to need a surgery to fix her bowls. I contacted the guy a got her from and he is 100%. He meeting me this week to get the puppy back and let me have a pick of the 3 females he has left. Hopefully this was a freak thing with this pup and not a trait they will pass down.

A puppy born without an anus would be dead within days without treatment. It would need surgery in order to open the anus. A pup born without an anus is called Imperforate Anus.

Best bet is carry the pup to the vet for expert advice.

No offense taken. It sounded a little far out there for me but hey she has more experience than me.

Anyway the Pup is doin well enough to make it til friday when I meet with the guy I got her from. Just out of pure curiosity I want to take her to the vet...HOWEVER.... with gas prices down here I can't afford the extra vet bill on a pup I ain't keepin. I spoke to him today and I guess he is gonna take it to his vet and see what he can do for her. Maybe a good pleasure dog.

Thanks to you guys who responded so quickly, i'm glad I got into a sport with guys who will at nothing else listen to another hunters issues.
