What is the typical life expectancy for mountain curs? I was sitting on the ground petting mine yesterday and i noticed the fur on his face is starting to turn white. He is about six and a half and it made me sad to think that he may be getting old.

I did a search and the hits mostly said 12-16 years. Black and tans come up with 10-12 years and walkers 12-13 years.

Some breeds turn white at an early age. My walker's muzzle is whitening and he's only 6. My German shorthair had white on his muzzle by the time he was 4. One of my black and tan is 10 and you'd have a hard time seeing any white on him.
